| Description |
Enzymes can be used to carry out chemical transformations at neutral pH and low temperatures. Additionally they display selectivity, particularly chemo-, enantio- and regioselectivity that cannot be achieved using synthetic approaches. As a result enzymes are finding wider application in the production of intermediates for pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals. The purpose of this symposium is to bring together academics and industrialists working in the area of biocatalysis.
