This tutorial will familiarize attendees with upcoming changes to IEST-STD-CC1246, the industry replacement for MIL-STD-1246 on “Product Cleanliness Levels and Contamination Control Program.” Revisions will include standardization of particle counting bins, tighter constraints on the maximum size of the largest particle that defines a level, a methodology for specifying cleanroom fallout levels, more uniform nomenclature for non-volatile residue (NVR) levels, new definitions for visibly clean levels, and guidelines for selecting the appropriate cleanroom level to achieve the product cleanliness level. This course is recommended for new and experienced contamination control engineers who specify or interpret cleanliness requirements, evaluate cleanliness, or perform cleanliness testing of surfaces, liquids, or gases. This course includes a copy of IEST-STD-CC1246D.
