*** International Workshop on Singular Spectrum Analysis’09 ***
11-12 May (Monday-Tuesday) 2009
Bremen, Germany
http://www.math.uni-bremen.de/~theodore/ssa09
Organized by Center for Industrial Mathematics (ZeTeM), University of Bremen
This workshop aims to
• Promote SSA as a multi-purpose method of time series analysis and data processing
• Provide an open forum of discussions and exchanges between researchers interested in SSA and related methods
• Bring together theoreticians and practitioners from different scientific groups and establish new collaborations
• Present recent results in the theory and applications of SSA
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
• Extraction of signal, trend, cycles
• Denoising and smoothing
• Forecasting
• Monte-Carlo SSA
• Detection of change-points (abrupt changes)
• Filling in missing values
• Multivariate SSA
• SSA for random fields and image processing
• Nonlinear SSA, local SSA
• SSA-related techniques (subspace methods, subspace tracking, structured total least squares)
• Intercomparisons of SSA and SSA-related techniques with other methods
• Hankel matrix approximation (structured low-rank approximation), Total Least Squares
• Perturbation theory for error calculation
• SSA and dynamical systems
• Applications
* Geosciences, climatology
* Engineering, radar data, nuclear science
* Economics and finance
* Biology (e.g. spatial gene expression), medicine (e.g. EEG)
* Non-standard applications
• SSA and SSA-related software (R-packages are especially welcome!)
