Description The LC2009 workshop continues a series of annual meetings started in 1991 sponsored by the International Light-Cone Committee (ILCAC) http://www.ilcacinc.org/

Scope:
Light-front dynamics is a Hamiltonian formulation with Boost-invariant eigenstates that allows a rigorous description of hadronic and nuclear phenomena from first principles in quantum chromodynamics. This framework allows the calculations of decay rates, scattering amplitudes, correlations, spin effects, phases, distributions and other hadronic observables from first principles, and can also illuminate novel QCD effects.

Main Goals:
- The rigorous evaluation of hadron spectra and wave functions using the light-front Hamiltonian of QCD;
- Hadronic and nuclear phenomenology based on fundamental quark and gluon dynamics;
- Relativistic Hadron physics;
- Confrontation and design of crucial experimental tests at the new hadron facilities - JLAB, RHIC, LHC, JPARC, GSI(FAIR).

Main Challenges:
- Symmetry preserving regularization and renormalization methods;
- The incorporation of spontaneous symmetry breaking;
- Explicit evaluation of hadron spectra and amplitudes;
- Connections with string theory methods;
- Connections between quark-gluon and nuclear many-body methods.

Topics:
- Light-front field theory
- Hamiltonian and Lattice QCD calculations
- Non-perturbative methods and renormalization
- Applications of AdS/CFT to QCD
- Hadron structure
- Spin physics
- Chiral dynamics
- Relativistic nuclear physics
- Confined and deconfined matter
- Strongly interaction systems at finite T
- Small x physics and saturation phenomena
