Against a backdrop of increasing traffic and passengers levels the importance of continual safety improvements remain paramount for all parties involved in rail. Passenger safety will always remain a headline grabber but of course improved safety has other benefits to the rail and train operators and infrastructure owners as well as passengers; less delays, protection of assets and improved public image to name a few.
Rail Safety and Risk Assessment 2009 will bring together Europe's leading figures from the rail sector to discuss and share experience and opinion of the current and future state of the rail networks. This two day conference will provide insights into the latest regulations, projects, initiatives and challenges facing Europe's networks. The programme is designed to promote open discussion with parallel workshops specifically tailored to track safety and rolling stock as well as plenary sessions which will include presentations from the most pre-eminent individuals in the field.
