| Description |
The past three decades have been a 'golden era' for imaging, not only through the introduction of modern imaging techniques such as computed tomography [CT], ultrasound [US], magnetic resonance imaging [MRI] and positron emission tomography combined with CT [PET-CT], but also through the increasing use and sophistication of image-guided therapeutic procedures. These have important implications for diagnosis and management of patients across many clinical disciplines and have made substantial contributions to changes in the delivery of health care and patterns work in professional teams.
