| Description |
Under the auspices of the Asian Federation on Intellectual Disabilities (inaugutated in 1973), a biennial Conference on Intellectual Disabilities is held in each of the 15 member-countries by rotation. (See www.afid73.org )
Singapore is due to host the 19th AFID Conference on Intellectual Disabilities from 22-26 November 2009 at the RELC International Hotel ( see www.relcih.com.sg ).
Topics for presentation cover all aspects of intellectual disabilities, especially the education, rehabilitation, care and employment training for people with intellectual disabilities.
The Conference will feature:-
(a) Two Pre-Conference Workshops
(b) 5 keynote Speeches from eminent Professors in the United Kingdom, Australia, USA and Taiwan(c) Study tours to special schools and facilities for the intellectually disabled in Singapore
(d) Concurrent sessions devoted to People with Intellectual Disabilities (PID) and for Parents.
(e) Plenary sessions also on Employment / Job Opportunities for PID and other topics
(f) Panel discussion on matters of concern to the intellectually disabled.

Interested participants are invited to submit the Abstracts of their papers to < secretariat@afid73.org >.
Registration Fees are US $280 (members) and US $ 330 (non-members) before 31 May 2009, thereafter the Fees will be increased by US $ 50. Details from www.afid73.org
The Registraion fees will include all lunches for the 4 days and tea & coffee breaks, and 2 Dinners (Welcome Dinner & Friendship Dinner).
