Theme: Celebrating a Decade of Education Leadership “Preserving the Legacy, Shaping the Future”
ISNA Education Forum celebrates a 10-year milestone of meetings which have fostered professional growth, development, and support to many Islamic schools. We have seen accredited schools sprout from grassroots efforts across North America; and we credit Allah, subhanna wa ta’alla, for empowering the many men and women who have made the dreams for our schools a reality.
Our 2009 Forum will honor teachers who patiently persevere through difficulties and personal sacrifice to make our schools the ultimate in quality academics and peaceful Islamic learning communities. This year’s presentations will address the issues that deal with establishment of a supportive, nurturing school environment for students and staff, and the many facets we anticipate relevant to the 21st century—critical thinking, problem solving, technology literacy, communication—and support services for counseling, after school programs, and leadership development.
Emphasis will be on practical and interactive presentations which will engage the attendees in some form of participation. Presenters will provide handouts and deliver substantive information which will benefit a wide range of schools. A variety of topics will be covered to meet the interests of the target audience: Arabic, Islamic Studies, Administration & Boards, Early Childhood, KG-2, Elementary 3-5, Middle School, High School, After School, Alternative School Models, Academic Counselors, Social Counseling, Accreditation, Technology, Physical Education, Curriculum, Instruction, and Youth Development.
