In the wake of the financial fallout in the United States and Western Europe, long-term minded investors with capital to commit will still be looking to emerging markets where they see higher long-term growth potential. Although companies in Asia, Latin America and Africa have been affected by the global credit squeeze and broader global economic slowdown, the underlying long-term trends in emerging markets economies are expected to remain positive, as key emerging markets continue to cut interest rates and unveil stimulus plans in efforts to sustain growth rates still well above those found in most developed markets. During the industry’s largest and most comprehensive conference, we will be examining emerging market opportunities in an increasingly competitive and volatile global environment and identifying which markets represent the new frontier and present counter-cyclical opportunities, determining how to add value to portfolio companies and manage them through the crisis, and highlighting which sectors and regions merit increased investor focus.
This two-day conference features renowned keynote speakers, panel discussions, entertaining debates and interviews on key issues and a series of roundtable discussions. The roundtable sessions will be geographically focused on key emerging markets and well as topically-focused on issues that affect all emerging markets. As always, a premium will be placed on networking opportunities at the event and delegates will be able to interact with each other and with moderators, speakers and sponsors throughout the event as well as during lunches and the cocktail reception held on May 12th.
