Description
The Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property, the Women and the Law Program and the Journal of Gender, Social Policy and the Law in collaboration with the AU Center for Social Media, present our 6th Annual Symposium on “IP/Gender: Mapping the Connections,†which explores the rich intersection of feminist jurisprudence and intellectual property law. This year we will take up a special theme: female subcultures (with a particular emphasis on fan works--such as fan fiction, arts, music, filk, crafts, and vids--and participatory fan communities, including clubs, forums, lists, websites, wikis, discussion groups, rec sites, and other creative, celebratory, or analytical communities) and their relationship to intellectual property and copyright regimes.
