The Department of Computer Applications of Chitkara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Punjab, India announces a “National Conference cum Workshop on Information Security and Networks-ISAN-2009” to be held on 19th and 20th June, 2009.

ISAN is a National Conference cum Workshop covering research in and applications of Information Security and Networks. The mission of ISAN is to promote research, development and new inventions of Information Security and Networks including mobile and wireless technologies DCAS, intrusion detection etc. ISAN brings together researchers from both Information Security & Computer Networks communities and individuals from academia as well as industries-especially Telecommunication Industry. It also aims to exchange ideas on the latest scientific and theoretical advances, to discuss major issues and to demonstrate state-of-the-art applications.
In One day workshop, experts will share their knowledge on Network Design Concepts, description of Information Security and Network Security.

Paper in word format is to be submitted electronically to , as per the format specified below. In order for the paper to be included in the Proceedings, at least one of the authors must register for the Conference to present the paper.

The full text of the paper should be in MS Word prepared on A4 size paper (210 mm ×297 mm). The text of the paper must conform strictly to the following requirements.
• Top/Bottom Margin: 30 mm
• Left/Right Margin: 30 mm
• Typing Area: 150 mm × 230 mm (including folio), single space, and single column
• Total Pages: 6-8 pages including figures, tables, photographs, etc., if any
• Font Type: Times New Roman
• Title: 14 Point BOLD CAPITALS
• Author's Name: 12 Point BOLD Upper/lower
• Affiliation (designation, organization & place): 11 Point Italics
• Main Headings: 10 Point Bold Capitals
• Sub headings: 10 Point Bold Upper-lower

The paper title, name(s) of author(s) and affiliation and address, Centre justified, should be typed in a space of 50 mm from the top margin on the first page. The paper should begin with a synopsis/abstract of not more than 200 words, describing the aims of work, methods adopted, results obtained and conclusions. Type the headings, subheadings and paragraphs aligned with the left-hand Margin. Both side-justified texts are preferred. SI units should be used as far as possible in the text, figures and tables. All symbols and mathematical formulae included in the text should preferably be typed using scientific and mathematical typeface.

The Institute is situated on Chandigarh-Patiala National Highway. The location is equidistant from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Ambala and Patiala. It is just a 30 minutes drive from either of these cities. It can be reached through road, air and rail. The closest air link is available up to Chandigarh. By rail it can be reached via Ambala Cantt or Chandigarh.
The nearby places worth visiting are the The City Beautiful -Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali . Tourist places like Nek Chands' Rock Garden, Rose Garden-Asia’s Biggest, Sector 17 Plaza, Rajiv Gandhi IT park, Sukhna Lake, PCA Stadium, Kansal & Napli Forests, can be visited along with places like the Open Hand Monument, The High Court, The Secretariat, War memorial, Capital Complex designed by Le Corbusier. Patiala is famous for its Baradari Gardens, Kali Devi Temple, Sheesh Mahal, Kila Mubarak to name a few. Bahadurgarh Fort, Shimla, Kasauli and Morni Hills, are the famous hill stations nearby.
