26/11 has left a deep impression in the minds of people across the world. It has moved millions, and we at the Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI) and Aviation Watch (AW) feel very strongly about the trauma and emotional distress that the nation went through during this difficult period.

We have organized an initiative to spread awareness about terrorism, its prevention and how to minimize the impact of terrorist attacks. Our security initiative in the form of a conference on ‘Counter Terror and Security Solutions for India’ is being held on April 9, 2009 at Le Meridien Hotel in New Delhi.

India faces multiple threats from a variety of groups: Naxalites, Jehadis, Fidayeen, ULFA, Bodo separatists. How vulnerable are we? Can we judge the possible impacts of various threats to our workplace and on our business operations? How do we secure our homes, businesses and public events from terror attacks? Are we equipped to handle a crisis or manage disasters? Have we truly attempted to study the cause of terrorism so we may approach it with understanding and wisdom? These concerns will be addressed by eminent speakers at the conference.

This initiative is designed to spread awareness amongst people in the corporate sector, industry, as also among the citizens on understanding, preparing for, and countering terrorist threats.

We expect participation from Airports, Airlines, Hotels, Banks, EPC Companies, Financial Analysts, Industrial Complexes, Schools, Universities, Transportation, Insurance, Investors, IT Companies, Government Agencies, Law Firms, Logistics Companies, Policy Makers, Ports, Railway Agencies, Oil & Gas Companies, Nuclear Power Entities, Power Companies and Security Agencies.

This is the first time a counter terror initiative of this nature has been taken to address the overarching issues that are affecting the subcontinent and particularly India. We are pleased to inform you that we will have eminent international participation at the conference.
