CEWIT’09, October 1, 2009 - CALL FOR PAPERS

Wireless and Information Technologies Driving Energy, Healthcare and Infrastructure Transformation

This conference, organized by the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT), at Stony Brook University is the 6th in its technical series. The Center is a 250 million dollar government/industry/academic partnership to lead the next wave of the wireless and information technology revolution. The Center partners include some of the world’s best technology companies and research institutions. The conference provides a platform for leading academic and business institutions to explore collaboratively new technologies and their business potential. The program includes four parallel tracks; possible paper topics include (but are not limited to):

• Track1 - Emerging Technologies
- WLAN, WiMAX/4G MIMO/OFDM systems
- Wireless sensor networks (including RFID, ZigBee, etc.)
- Pervasive, context based and wearable computing
- Mesh and mobile networks
- M2M networks, applications and services
- 3D visual computing and user interfaces
- Cyber security
• Track2 - Healthcare and Medical Devices
- Personal medical devices
- Wireless Telemedicine systems
- Decision support systems and medical image processing
- Information storage and retrieval
- Asset Tracking and monitoring
- Ambulatory and medical alert systems and devices
• Track3 - Energy and Smart Grid
- Smart grid distributed sensor networks
- Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)
- Management, simulation and visualization technology
- New services enabled by smart grid technologies
- Energy efficient computing
- Securing the smart grid
• Track4 – Smart Infrastructure
- Ubiquitous cities (U-City)
- Smart infrastructure sensing (e.g., bridges, tunnels, roads, etc.)
- Disaster management and monitoring the infrastructure
- Interaction between vehicles and the environment
- Broadband access anywhere
- Homeland security

This year we welcome and encourage submissions that are inline with this year theme - Advanced Technologies and Solutions Driving Energy, Healthcare and Infrastructure Transformation. Please submit an abstract electronically at http://naples.cc.sunysb.edu/secct/ceasevents.nsf/cabstract. The abstract will be reviewed by the Conference Program Committee.

CEWIT Conference is technically co-sponsored by IEEE Region 1 and its Long Island Section. Peer reviewed conference papers will be included in the IEEE Xplore online database and cited in EI.
