This educational summit for educators and parents will be held in the San Francisco Bay Area at The Nueva School. Nueva is one of the nation’s premier schools and community resources for gifted children, serving students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade through a constructivist, project-based program. Parents and educators will join world-renowned scholars and industry leaders in more than fifty formal presentations, informative panels, and lively discussion groups during this two-day conference. Hear the latest on cornerstone issues in gifted education, including curriculum design, underachievement, motivation, design thinking, profound giftedness, parenting strategies, multicultural programming, implications of brain research for the classroom, alternative schooling, and social-emotional learning. Attend presentations on forward-looking topics, such as Education and Technology in the 21st Century, Teaching Leadership and Creativity, and the latest in Neuroscience and Brain Research.
On Thursday, October 15, before the conference opens to the general public, Nueva faculty and other leading educators will apply theory to practice at special pre-conference demonstration workshops. They will open their doors to fellow teachers and school administrators, share their expertise, and offer practical approaches gleaned from their daily experience teaching high-ability children.
