Description
This one day conference is aimed at sporting stadia, public health professionals and sports governing bodies across Europe concerned with facilities management, corporate and social responsibility, community engagement and environmental sustainability. The Conference will be followed by a gala dinner at Anfield, home of Liverpool Football Club.
The event will mark the launch of the European Healthy Stadia network, and offers a key opportunity to share the learning, resources and best practice emerging from this two and a half year European Programme. The Healthy Stadia agenda aims to promote health and community initiatives through sports stadia, whilst supporting stadia and clubs’ corporate objectives, helping them to engage with a broader audience and securing additional sources of funding.
The conference programme will include presentations from UEFA, the EU’s Sport Unit, IAAM Europe, Italian and Polish Ministers of State and representatives from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games.
Speakers from major sporting stadia across Europe, including FC Sevilla, Olympic Sports Centre Riga, and Liverpool FC will also attend to highlight examples of best practice in the following areas:
• Corporate and social responsibility
• Community engagement
• Sustainability and the environment
• Racism & organized violence
• Healthy food & drink options
• Cooperation with statutory partners
