The Chadwick Center for Children and Families at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego is a large, comprehensive, multidisciplinary agency which serves families experiencing abuse, trauma and interpersonal violence, throughout the United States and around the world. The organization possesses expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of child maltreatment, including the effects of domestic violence and substance abuse. Since 1976, the Chadwick Center has led the field in promoting Best Practices. We proudly present the 24th annual San Diego International Conference on Child and Family Maltreatment.
Event Description
The Chadwick Center for Children and Families, Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego present the 24th Annual San Diego International Conference on Child and Family Maltreatment.
The conference is directed to an international and multidisciplinary audience from the fields of medicine, mental health, interviewing, child welfare, research, law, investigation, and education.
Experts from around the world provide the latest research, practical experience, and skill building workshops founded on evidence-based practices, ensuring quality practice and programs.
Workshops address issues covering investigations; prevention with emphasis on foster care; trauma treatment; Child Advocacy Centers and leadership topics; measurements in child abuse, ethics and law (licensure course for social workers), diversity issues (LGBTQ youth); cultural issues with Arab families and traditions; information technology; innovative adolescent topics; international global lectures; the Internet and child sexual exploitation plus a weeklong specialized training on Child Abuse Investigations sponsored by OJJDP.
