Description The theme for the WANGO 2009 Congress is Affirming Human Dignity: The Role of NGOs. All human beings possess an intrinsic worthiness. As a core component of human beings, this worthiness is the concern of all NGOs. Whatever its mission, one of the most important goals of an NGO is the recognition of the inherent worth of each human being.

The 2009 World Congress is being held in partnership with the Global Peace Convention. The Global Peace Convention is the culmination of numerous Global Peace Festivals held around the world, centered on the pillars of service, family, and interfaith cooperation. As a result of the partnership with the Global Peace Convention, participants of the WANGO conference will have the opportunity to also attend events of the Global Peace Convention, including a day devoted to practical workshops and interactive sessions.
