| Description |
The intellectual atmosphere in Russian academic community today gives an impressing example of misconnection and distrust. This obviously embarrasses fulfilment of main aims of the university as they were regarded by Humboldt: knowledge producing, maintenance and dissemination, as well as training high qualified graduates with settled and affirmative notion about essential requirements for an academic as a public figure. This problem can not be solved by means of administrative control, and that arises the task for Russian academic community to cultivate and develop informal ways of ethical implementation as well as formalized machinery. Present conference concerns with the analysis of opportunities for Russian universities to become really autonomous communities within the framework of discussions on institutionalization tendencies in academic ethics (codes, committees etc.) and finding out ethical component of new problems supposed to appear in the course of transformation of educational system.
