Over the past several months, the oil prices have significantly declined precipitating discussions regarding the drivers behind the current low oil prices and speculation whether oil prices have now bottomed out. Prior to the decline in oil prices, most energy discussions focused on renewable energy technologies and infrastructure projects designed to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and establish a green economy. The economic stimulus packages have largely focused on green technologies and modernizing the transportation infrastructure to make it more efficient and environmentally friendly dubbed the new economy. The question is how will the traditional energy economy fit into this new economy? The international conference on energy, logistics and the environment invites academicians and practitioners to share experiences, research and best practices regarding alternative energy sources, clean coal technologies, and reducing operational costs in the logistics industry.
