On behalf of the Urban Design Institute of Korea (UDIK), we invite you to join us for the first Asian Urban Design Conference 2009, under the theme of Urban Sustainability in Asia.
UDIK is an academic organization that was established in March 2000 to explore and promote new urban design concepts and strategies in Korea. As a platform for strengthening our on-going commitment to global cooperation, UDIK has launched a new initiative to create International Urban Design Network, bringing together scholars, practitioners, and researchers in the rapidly evolving and expanding field of urban design, fueled by constant emergence of new concepts and perspectives. The need for a professional network that can encourage active exchanges and debates of new ideas is crucial in fostering creative and flexible international cooperation as demanded by various organizations and governments around the world.
We encourage you to join us in November 2009, in Seoul, Korea, to celebrate the formation International Urban Design Network, and participate in the first Asian Urban Design Conference, which will host a variety of discussion sessions, seminars, and case study presentations of design projects.
We are confident that this event will prove to be a lively venue for scholars and urban design professionals to meet and share their ideas, toward our common goal of sustainable future for Asian cities.
