The National Literacy Professional Development Consortium would like to cordially invite you to the 2009 Annual Literacy and Technology Conference on October 8th -9th at the Sam’s Town Casino in Tunica, Mississippi. This conference is a place for educators, professionals, community and government leaders to explore the critical issues and practices of literacy and technology development. Our theme this year is Literacy Today, Tomorrow, and Forever: Growing Readers to Leaders. At the 2009 Early Literacy and Technology Conference, we are providing research, ideas and open discussions that integrate intercultural, international experiences, as well as lessons learned from those who are studying and implementing projects and working toward inclusive solutions within schools and communities.

Further, the 2009 Early Literacy and Technology Conference provides an interdisciplinary and intercultural learning environment for the exploration and exchange of ideas about literacy education. As is the norm for each Annual Conference, a diverse group of participants, from all venues of life and different cultural backgrounds, will be brought together to insure the conditions for a rich and meaningful dialogue.

We seek to effectively advance our understanding of development in this ominous era. Therefore, our Forum is an inclusive platform in which conceptual frameworks, demonstration of theory to practice, collaborative projects, school/community partnerships, and general participation are encouraged and nurtured.

We extend our most cordial invitation for you to be part of this unique encounter. You may contact our office at 1-866-921-5849 or visit our website at www.nlpdc.us/.
