Accounting for 50% of the Malaysian economy, the public sector procurement entities are constantly under the radar and subjected to public scrutiny. Being a large part of the economy paired with the current economic climate, public sector procurement entities need, now, more than ever to keep up the momentum on achieving better value for money. This is driving tremendous pressure on public sector procurement for efficient delivery to ensure productivity and value.

Malaysia’s Vision 2020 towards a developed nation status can only be achieved through an amalgam of proficient procurement processes and systems and credible human resources. In order to realize the nation’s dream, government buying entities must be proficient in balancing risk and opportunities, supporting business relationships in order to minimize fiscal risk to government and establishing sound governance arrangements and must be adept to secure value whilst protecting, improving and extending the vital services.

Against this background, the Asia Business Forum’s Conference on PUBLIC SECTOR PROCUREMENT aims at providing an ideal opportunity for key stakeholders and suppliers to government to identify and discuss emerging issues, trends and opportunities. Led by an international panel of experts in government procurement, this 2-day Conference will provide a deeper understanding on the key elements of the government procurement processes for better efficiency, reliability and credibility in an effort to move the public sector in Malaysia as a customer of choice.
