Description North America has joined Europe in actively pursuing carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies and projects to help facilitate mass commercialization.

The first generation of these efforts is to have enhanced CO2 separation efficiencies, measurable pilot-projects for sequestration, enhanced oil recovery, and strategies to reduce environmental impact, liability and population risk.

Due to regulatory debates, stagnation of CCS development existed. With the recent revival of FutureGen - a public-private partnership to design, build, and operate the world's first coal-fueled, near-zero emissions power plant - the industry has responded by shifting priorities, increasing funds, and personnel to address the commercialization of CCS.

Electric utilities stand on the precipice of the emerging CCS market. Although many regulatory details remain in question, there is a collective belief that strong industry, government, and public outreach can achieve the monumental task of commercializing CCS within five years.

EUCI presents a live conference to address the first generation of CCS deployment. Leading CCS projects will be analyzed extensively for details showing positive and/or negative impacts. Thought-leaders in carbon treatment, public participation, risk management, and business planning will be on hand to present the very latest in global CCS development.
Additional Information The Early Bird price for this conference is USD $1,195.00.
After October 30, 2009 the price will be USD $1,395.00.
