Description
In tough economic times, innovative ideas and new solutions are needed to sustain the growth of the sustainability movement. The second annual Green Community College Summit, October 5-7, 2009 at the Pasadena Convention Center, offers a rare chance for those involved in community college building, operations, and workforce development programs to get up to date on the latest developments in policy, technology and funding.
Developed under an Advisory Board composed of leaders from the community college sector, the Summit provides a timely and much-needed forum for showcasing best practices and the diverse resources available to grow, or begin, green programs.
Keynote speakers will be David Crane, Special Advisor to the Governor of California for Jobs and Economic Growth; and Jerome Ringo, President of the Apollo Alliance. The Summit will include a complete educational program with pre-summit, full-day workshops on October 5 and concurrent sessions covering the spectrum of issues on October 6 and 7. Topics will include green building, energy efficiency, financing, curriculum, green jobs, purchasing and operations and maintenance.
