Dear Colleague,
I invite you to register for the 2nd Australian - European Lawyers' Conference.
This unique cross-jurisdictional Conference will take place from 1 to 3 October 2009 at the Humboldt University in Berlin. It features a compelling program delivered by many distinguished speakers.
Papers, briefings and panel discussions will focus on transnational investment, mining, renewable energies and cross-border dispute resolution. The effects of the current global economic crisis in Europe, Germany and Australia will be of particular interest. Federalism and its reform in Europe, Germany and Australia and the rule of law in the Pacific region will also feature.
The program will appeal to a large number of legal professionals, academics and policy makers. Also, the Conference will be an outstanding opportunity for participants to network and expand their world-wide contacts.
The Conference will also feature a memorable social program, including:
a pre-conference reception at the Australian Embassy in Berlin
the conference dinner at the Kaefer Gourmet Restaurant , spectacularly located beside the world-famous glass cupola the rooftop of the Reichstag, seat of the German Parliament

The 3rd of October 2009 will mark the 19th anniversary of the German reunification. In November 2009, Germany will further celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Both events also mark the end of the Cold War and the beginning of Europe's expansion to the East. Berlin will offer many events that will celebrate these historic events.
