electric power industry. By the end of 2008, Chinaâ€™s total power installed capacity reached 790 million kilowatts and was ranked second in the world. According to the International Energy Agency, Chinaâ€™s power consumption will double and its power generation capacity will reach 1775 gigawatts by 2030. The power transmission and distribution industry is also expected to grow. By 2030, investment in Chinaâ€™s power generation, transmission and distribution will reach US$ 2.8 trillion, accounting for a quarter of the worldâ€™s total investment.
