About the program:
Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with latent variables has become one of the
widely used techniques for investigating complex causal relationships in business
and social research. Recently SEM usingAMOS has gained popularity in different
fields of research and in practice viz. psychology, healthcare, social sciences,
market research and organizational research.
Multivariate techniques like multiple regression, factor analysis, discriminant
analysis, multivariate analysis of variance etc. can examine only a single
relationship at a time. For example, what variables determine the corporate image?
How corporate image along with customers' trust affect customer satisfaction?
Again corporate image and trust are interrelated. Further how perceived value of
products/services affects corporate image and customer satisfaction as well? How
does customer satisfaction affect customer loyalty both in the short-term and in the
long term? These issues have theoretical as well as managerial implications. And
none of the above mentioned multivariate techniques can enable us to estimate all
the above relationships in one go. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) enables us
to examine such a series of dependence relationships simultaneously. It is
particularly useful in testing theories that contain multiple equations involving
dependence relationships. So, a hypothesized dependent variable becomes an
independent variable in a subsequent dependence relationship.
This workshop aims to provide practical understanding of SEM concepts and
imparts hands on experience of estimating structural models using AMOS, one of
the widely usedSEMsoftware.
Objectives of the Workshop:
The aim of the workshop is to provide a practical guide to Structural Equation
Modeling (SEM) usingAMOS.The workshop primarily has threefold objective,
1. To introduce the basic concepts related to SEM,
2. To illustrate the basic applications ofSEMusing theAMOSprogram, and
3. To highlight other important topics associated withAMOS.
Whoshould attend?
This workshop is designed for practicing industry executives, academicians and
for research scholars/doctoral candidates who are engaged in or interested in
contemporary techniques to perform Structured Equation Modeling (SEM)
using AMOS. All participants should have some knowledge of multivariate
techniques such as factor analysis and multiple regression.
