The convocation of this IV Conference and the composition of its thematic scope are carried out in collaboration with the Federation of the Associations of the Hieropsaltes of Greece (OMSIE), with the organizational support of the Synodic Committee on the Ecclesiastic Art and Music, and with the benediction of the Archbishop of Athens and all Greece Hieronymus.
This 4th Conference, following the three previous, maintains the dual character emphasizing on the musicological and psaltic-artistic aspects. This plan invites all scientists and psaltes-musico-logists and all psaltes-artists to participate and allows the selection of four or five Choirs from Greece and other homodox countries.
Under the fundamental thematic axis, â€˜Theoria and Praxis of the Psaltic Artâ€™, the goal of the present Conference is the investigation of the specific theme:

invitation â€“call for papers
Scholars and researchers in the fields of the theory and practice of the Psaltic Art, university instructors, musicologists and chanters who are involved in any area of the Conferenceâ€™s themology are invited to participate.
Participation regards either the presentation of scientific announcements lasting 20 minutes during the Î‘, B, C thematic units, or short presentations lasting about 7 minutes. During the evening sessions the utilization of graphics, posters â€“i.e. photographs of manuscripts, tables of theoretical clarification,bibliographical information, etc. Furthermore, the participation of chanters, musicians and those interesting in participating in the discussion groups of the Conference is highly encouraged.
The submission of the registration form is required for all types of participation in the Conference. Clearly state the title of the announcement, as well as the type of presentation material needed. The registration form must be received by the Organizational Committee by 30 September 2009 and may be submitted by post or electronically at the following addresses:
