PLATTSBURGH, N.Y- The Northern New York Paranormal Research Society and the City of Plattsburgh Recreation Department have teamed up to present the First Annual Northern New York Paranormal Expo at the City Recreation Center on October 24 from 10am-6pm.

The Paranormal EXPO will include vendors and locally and internationally known speakers with varied topics of interest. Gordy Little, locally know radio and television personality, will speak about his new book "Ghosts of Clinton County" and will present ghost stories for children. Other speakers include Belle Salisbury, Psychic Intuitive; Lindamarie Hill, Ghost Whisperer; Dan Lowenski, UFO Specialist; and Christopher and Shannon Nye, owners of Nye Manor which is an active haunted location. Other talks include paranormal investigators, dream interpretations, experimental paranormal investigations equipment and more.

"Since founding the Northern New York Paranormal Research Society in 2001, we have wanted to hold an event to present the paranormal world to the public in a fun, educational way," said Merrill McKee, founder and president of NNYPRS. "We're very excited that this dream is coming to fruition. "
The EXPO, held at the City Recreation Center (formerly the Old Base Gym), will include a vendor showcase featuring a wide range of products and services including books, new age gifts and accessories, tarot cards, a spirit guide artist, reiki healing, psychic readers, handmade jewelry, herbal healing, massage, crystals, stones, tattoos, paranormal research teams, Halloween decorations, and more. Attendees can enjoy paranormally good sweets and hear from paranormal teams from as far away as Michigan.
"This is a great opportunity to introduce the community to unique and varied topics," said Steve Peters, Superintendent of Recreation for the City of Plattsburgh. "We are pleased to be working with the Northern New York Paranormal Research Society and are excited to present the Expo during this time of year."

The Expo will be open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for City Recreation Center gym members, students with a college ID, and senior citizens. Children 12 and under are free. Attendees can receive $1 off the price of admission for bringing a non-perishable food item for the Clinton County Food Shelf.
Advance tickets, for $5, can be purchased at the NNYPRS booth during the Battle of Plattsburgh, or by visiting the EXPO website at http://www.nnyprs.com/expo.htm.
"This will be a fun, entertaining and educational day for the whole family to enjoy," says Merrill McKee. "With games, prizes, a bounce house, a haunted house, face painting, and more, children will enjoy the day as much as their parents while learning about the paranormal world."
