The purpose of the ACE conference and events industry get-together is to provide regular free to attend events which bring talented, professional people from all areas of the conference and events industry together so they can meet each other, share ideas, have a few drinks and build their personal networks.
The group is inspired by ACE (the Association for Conferences and Events) which is the UK's longest established event association. ACE has members from all aspects of the industry including the UK's leading Conference Organisers, Event Managers, Entertainers, AV Companies, Technology Companies, Venue Owners, Consultants, Caterers and so on.
The conference and events industry get-togethers are open to all, it doesn't matter if you are a member of a professional association like ACE or not, if you are just starting out in the events sector or you're a seasoned veteran either way you'll be made very welcome.
The plan is to get together after work on September 17th at 'The Window' in Islington for food, drinks and conversation. The Window is comfortable, interesting and handy for the tube (Angel on the Northern Line or Highbury & Islington on the Victoria Line).
It's a chance to meet and compare notes with other people who are also involved in putting on great business events. The events our members are responsible for cover the whole spectrum and range from professional training seminars, to corporate hospitality, incentive trips, business conferences, exhibitions and awards dinners.
We'll organise a couple of very short presentations for the event. This could be anything from a singer or musician doing their thing to a tekkie wowing us with the next big thing. The main focus of the evening is getting to know people who do what you do.
