The theme of the conference is “Poverty and lung healthâ€. Sessions will explore the burden of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, asthma, pneumonia, tobacco- related and other lung diseases, as well as the health consequences of air pollution. The important medical, social and economic consequences of lung health in high-burden countries will also be discussed.
The World Conference attracts participants from more than 100 countries who debate these challenges and thus contribute to more effective, efficient and sustainable services, interventions and programmes. While most sessions will be in English, a parallel session in Spanish will also be held each day of the conference for Spanish-speaking delegates. Simultaneous translation is also offered for the plenary sessions.
The scientific programme will include 52 symposia, 10 post-graduate courses and 11 workshops, as well as daily plenary sessions. For details about the scientific programme, registration and accommodation, please visit www.worldlunghealth.org
