OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE
To provide a forum to the participants to discuss or present their papers on recent advances in Six Sigma Methodology, especially information resource management, personnel management, customer satisfaction, improving the quality services.
To create awareness and understanding about the importance of introducing and executing Six Sigma Methodology in library and information services, motivate participants to achieve optimum level of performance in library services with the help of Six Sigma.

THE TWO-DAY CONFERENCE WILL INCLUDE
- Keynote talks, presented by well-known Six Sigma professionals
- Focused-track sessions, in which selected papers will be presented on various areas of Six Sigma.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Librarians, Teachers, Research scholars, Academicians, Students and Industry Experts are invited to submit papers describing original research papers. Papers describing theoretical or empirical research, new techniques and tools, and in-depth case studies are all welcome. Submissions should be original and should not have been published previously or currently be under consideration for publication elsewhere. The topics include but not limited to:
• Six Sigma in information resource management
• Six Sigma in personnel management
• Six Sigma in information services
• Six Sigma in customer satisfaction
• Six Sigma in library management
• Six Sigma in service industry
PAPER SUBMISSION
Electronic version (MLA Reference Pattern) of full paper complete with authors' affiliation should be submitted to the Conference Convener through email: raju_kims@yahoo.com latest by October 15, 2009. The advisory committee will receive and evaluate the papers and the acceptance will be intimated to the authors by October 20, 2009. The authors of selected paper should register for participation. The papers of the registered candidates will only be published in the conference proceedings. For more details about reference pattern please visit www.mla.org
BEST PAPER AWARD
Contributed papers will be considered for the best paper award.
REGISTRATION
Students, Research Scholars & accompanying persons: Rs. 100/-
Librarians and Teachers: Rs. 200/- Participants from the Industry: Rs. 500/-
The registration fee is to be paid on or before October 26, 2009 by Demand Draft drawn from any Nationalized Bank in favour of the “The Principal, GFGC Kaup”, payable at Kaup, (Udupi District, Karnataka).
CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS
The conference proceedings will be published in CD form and will be made available during the conference. All accepted papers, whose author(s) register, will be included in the conference proceedings. The registration fee includes the cost of proceedings.
IMPORTANT DATES
Full Paper submission: October 15, 2009
Acceptance notification: October 20, 2009
Registration: October 26, 2009
TA/DA: Rupees five hundred (500/-) will be paid as traveling allowance to those who present the papers in the conference.
Please Note: Number of participants are restricted to 60 only. So, please confirm your participation as early as possible. Spot registration will be subjected to the availability of number of seats.
ACCOMMODATION
On payment accommodation will be arranged. Lodging accommodation can be arranged on first come first serve basis in Kaup which costs from Rs. 200/- per head per day.
