BC Power: A Forum for Discussion and Debate
B.C.’s energy focus continues to be clean, renewable energy, electricity self-sufficiency and reducing emissions all while upholding ‘the public interest’. There is much debate in the province over important issues including: how much power is required, what a ‘fair’ price for new power is, and the environmental impact of new power projects.
The Canadian Institute’s 4th BC Power conference will provide a great opportunity for discussion and debate about BC’s power supply mix and to discover where future opportunities lie. Attend the conference to hear timely topics such as:
The most up-to-date details on the transmission inquiry
BC’s first commercial wind project
The latest climate change policy direction from the U.S. and Canada
Updates from BC Hydro – where they are at and what they are planning
How to address power reliability and demand growth
Progress in alternative energies, demand-side management, and moving to electric vehicles
