Description There is tremendous pressure at both state and national levels to integrate more renewable energy into the grid. However, the discussions can get heated when talking about what transmission is really needed, who will control the siting and operation of the new transmission, and what is ultimately the best use of the new generation and transmission. The organizations that supply and deliver electricity to our nation face a huge challenge when it comes to generating renewable power and getting it to the load centers that need it. These issues will likely be compounded by a national renewable energy standard and/or carbon regulations.

The Midwestern United States has enormous potential to provide wind energy for their region and other large metropolitan areas in the East. However, planning, siting, and paying for the transmission needed to accomplish this task are issues that must be addressed in order to move forward. In addition, neighboring regions like the Northeast and Mid Atlantic states have plans of their own that will impact the transmission build- out in the Midwest. This EUCI conference will discuss opportunities and obstacles and highlight working solutions to address how these ends will meet.
Additional Information The Early Bird price for this conference is USD $1,195.00.
After November 30, 2009 the price will be USD $1,395.00.
