Since its first version, XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) has significantly evolved. Defined as a language for the electronic communication of business and financial data (from, XBRL is considered the new standard for financial reporting. It allows information modeling and expression of logical meaning often needed in business reporting and one of its most important uses is to be able to exchange financial information, such as financial statements.
