More than 80 regional and international speakers will discuss a range of scientific and clinical topics that are highly relevant to epilepsy practice in the Asian and Oceanian region. In addition to the main sessions, post main sessions, didactic lectures, parallel sessions and workshops as outlined already, poster sessions and platform sessions will be scheduled to facilitate the communication of new data.Industry-sponsored satellite symposia will play an important role in complimenting the main scientific sessions. A late breaking news session has been allowed for in order to review new and excitements developments in any aspect of epilepsy.
A special two day programme for patients and non-medical participants in the region will run in conjunction with the congress; it has been drawn up by the Western Pacific and South East Asia regional committees of the International Bureau for Epilepsy and will focus on epilepsy and society.
ASEPA (the Asian Epilepsy Academy) who organise the pre-congress workshops are also putting together specific educational courses and certification examinations.
A large exhibition will run simultaneously with the congress. This will be the networking and business hub of the 8th AOEC. It will incorporate the most up-to-date technology and equipment available to the industry as well as information on epilepsy chapters and associations.
