Project Management Applications and Essentials
Event Date/Time: Dec 09, 2009 | End Date/Time: Dec 11, 2009 |
Description
In this workshop, you will compress and manage a six-month project in three days using focused simulations of real-world situations faced by Project Managers. The simulations represent key phases of the project life cycle: initiation, planning, execution/control, and close-out
You will be part of a small project team consisting of four or five workshop delegates, who will first build a business case for the project opportunity. You will apply strategic, financial, and risk assessment tools to facilitate a go/no-go decision.
In the next session, you will develop an integrated project plan including a schedule using Microsoft Project. The simulations will also include a project kickoff meeting, team building exercises, and a scope change.
You will also track and monitor the project cost and schedule and present a project status report.
Finally, you will simulate project closure activities and capture lessons learned.
Course Material
You will receive a workbook containing the presentation slides and simulation exercises. An electronic copy of these items, solutions to the exercises, and tools/templates used in the workshop will be made available on the internet for you to download.
