The Higher Education Opportunity Act requires that all title IV institutions implement a web-based calculator—commonly known as the Net Price Calculator (NPC)—within the next two years. While the goal of the NPC is clear– to provide applicants the opportunity to understand the difference between institutional sticker price and net price and to receive an estimate of potential aid eligibility, institutions have two distinct options to achieving this goal.
