Description
"The President has directed that the NEC/NSC launch a broad-based interagency process for reviewing the overall U.S. export control system, including both the dual-use and defense trade processes. The aim of the review is to consider reforms to the system to enhance the national security, foreign policy, and economic security interests of the United States." White House Press Secretary, August 13th,2009.
This Workshop will examine a number of international cooperative programs. Managers will discuss how, following existing rules, regulations and procedures, they have learned to make the process work. They will also identify areas where iomprovements may generate savings in cost, security and time. They will also identify where current processes have imposed delays in getting equipment to the warfighter.
