Conference Overview:

Buildings and the infrastructure that supports them are the fabric of our modern landscape. They influence our daily lives, whether at work, home or during our leisure time. Worldwide, buildings account for 30% to 40% of energy use, 40% to 50% of raw materials used, 25% of wood harvest, 17% of fresh water consumption and nearly 40% of CO2 emissions. This has serious implications on the sustainability of the environment that we live in.

Jordan’s real estate developers have started embracing the green agenda and are paying closer attention to energy efficient and green building designs. In the last year, 8 projects have registered with the US Green Building Council for LEED certification. There are also at least 20 engineers in Jordan who have obtained the LEED Accredited Professional certificate.

Think Green 3 will build on the success and outcomes of the first two events by reviewing the latest developments, locally and internationally, in green building practices and policies and by providing a platform for further knowledge sharing and technology transfer, in addition to, cementing long term partnerships between major industry stakeholders.

To support the Conference and enhance the learning experience of the delegates an exhibition will be launched alongside Think Green 3. Go Green Expo will be open for the general public and will feature an exhibition of a wide range of renewable energy products, green building material and other eco-friendly products, services and projects. Conference Objectives:

 Promote Green Building principles and practices and accelerate their adoption in Jordan in order to move forward towards increased sustainable economic development.
 Facilitate technology transfer of environmentally-friendly technologies and share best practices from around the world.
 Foster effective communication and collaboration between major stakeholders including the Government, private sector and academia.
