Description Compliance with money laundering obligations remains a high priority for law firms. The possibility of being used to assist with money laundering poses many risks for firms, including criminal and disciplinary sanctions for firms and individual solicitors and civil action against the firm as a whole and individual partners. Therefore it is imperative that law firms comply with anti money laundering regulations and keep abreast of any changes or developments in this field.

Now that The Law Society has updated its anti-money laundering practice note and HM Treasury has formally approved it, the SRA and the courts will now need to pay regard to it when considering whether a solicitor's conduct was reasonable in relation to money laundering allegations and reporting/compliance failures.

This conference will not only address the key issues and challenges law firm MLROs, risk and compliance professionals are facing but it will also keep delegates abreast of all the changes and developments in this field.
Additional Information The 5 most exciting aspects of this conference including best speakers and sessions:

• HM Treasury’s review of the ML regulations
• The Law Society’s updated practice note on AML
• The interactive panel on the practicalities of implementing the ML regulations
• Jonathan Fisher QC, Barrister for 23 Essex Street on an update on money laundering case law
• New fresh faces - Tom Arrowsmith, Head of Risk Management & Compliance for Olswang LLP AND Amasis Saba, Compliance Manager for Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP
