| Description |
This conference will offer an overview of the latest innovations in European legislative activity and the most important recent case law and pending judgments of the Community Courts affecting the pharmaceutical sector:
(1) Pharmaceutical law and competition law:
- Pending ECJ decisions on Article 81 EC, such as GSK (C-501/06) and on Article 82 such as AstraZeneca (T-321/05) or before the European Commission such as Boehringer (COMP/B2/39246)
- Rules on merger control applicable to the pharmaceutical sector
(2) Pharmaceutical law and intellectual property law:
- Follow-up of the legislative proposal on counterfeiting of medicines (COM(2008)668) final) and involvement of the EU at the international level (WHO, IMPACT taskforce, discussions within the Council of Europe)
- Pharmaceutical patent litigation settlements, patent linkage, licensing agreements
(3) Pharmaceutical law and free movement:
- Parallel trade and free movement of goods
