Description Does your institution lack adequate classroom space to meet enrollment demand? Do you have limited instructional resources and wonder if blended learning can provide solutions? Institutions of higher education around the world are using blended learning to meet institutional goals, enhance student learning, facilitate student access and find solutions to address diminishing resources. Faculty members and instructional designers use blended learning as a means for enhancing teaching and learning. Administrators strategically incorporate blended learning as a means of fulfilling their institution's mission and goals. Students draw on blended offerings to provide flexibility and improve their time to degree.

Join your colleagues at the 7th Annual Sloan Consortium Blended Learning Conference and Workshop as we explore effective strategies, listen to each other's ideas and problem-solve together.

We invite you to submit a proposal for an interactive presentation at the 7th annual Sloan-C Blended Learning Conference and Workshop. The 2010 theme is: “The Promise and Practice of Blended Learning.” This teaching and learning modality is more than a combination of online and face-to-face instruction. It is, fundamentally, a re-thinking of how we teach, how our students learn and how we can harness myriad possibilities for academia that we have not yet realized. This unique model of instruction has the potential to impact all levels of education.

This conference/workshop seeks proposals that provide research, effective practices, and strategic considerations for the field of blended learning. Proposals that address specific considerations of instructional design/course development, academic planning/institutional strategies, assessment/evaluation, faculty development, and pedagogy are especially encouraged.
Additional Information The Sloan Consortium Blended Learning Conference and Workshop provides the opportunity for administrative leaders, faculty members, instructional designers and researchers to discuss blended learning in higher education. Attendees will engage with one another throughout this conference by networking, considering effective practices and discussing assessment strategies. As an attendee, you and your institution will benefit from this highly interactive conference as well as gain the ability to continue discussion and interaction via Sloan-C's asynchronous online Moodle site and online workshops.

Early Bird Registration ($475) opens December 1st at www.sloanconsortium.org/blended. Special registration rate of $425 for presenters.
