Samara Society for Cultural Studies, Regional Centre of International Commission of Urgent Anthropological Research, Transnational Perspectives, Samarkand International Museum of Peace and Solidarity and other institutions is organizing the 5-th International Correspondent Conference entitled ‘Social Innovations in Cultural Process – ‘SEMIOTICS OF CRISIS: TRANSFORMATIONS AND IMPERATIVES OF SURVIVAL IN DISCOURSE OF SOCIAL KNOWLEDGE’.
Contemporary culture is in transition. But any transition is great trial and risk for society. The transition is time of crisis and survival. The risk and danger go from side of global and local transformations. It is time critical limits and re-thinking of social meanings and cultural values. Cultural and anthropological knowledge allows to finding the necessary ways to survival and development of culture in context of innovations’ attack and structural transformation. Transition is road on unknown place always. But culture gives to society important markers for overcoming of these transitional trials. The conference will review the effect of social innovations and globalization on cultural process in a variety fields, including the intercultural encounters, social technologies, public communication, people’s diplomacy, management of cultural policy and art, indigenous and local communities, urgent anthropological studies in time of transformations and crisis.

All papers accepted by the Scientific Committee will be published in the conference proceeding during 2010. Papers may be presented in English, Russian, French, German (apr. 2500-3000 words), and abstract (apr. 150-200 words) should reach the Organizing Committee before 1-st February, 2010 (new date) by e-mail: acdis@mail.ru.
