According to the Centre for Industrial Studies (CSIL) Milan, the current world furniture production market is worth approximately $350 billion, with expected 2009 growth of more than 3%, in real terms, in China, India and Russia. Exports from emerging economies in Asia, now at 39% of the world furniture market, are rapidly catching up with traditional furniture manufacturers in the US and Europe, which combine for 47% of worldwide furniture exports.
