The Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM) and The Mother's Milk Foundation (FMM) would like to invite you to attend the 3rd European Conference on Breastfeeding Medicine on March 20-21, 2010 in Torun, Poland.
The Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine (ABM) is a worldwide organization of physicians dedicated to the promotion, protection and support of breastfeeding and human lactation through education, research and advocacy. ABM’s mission is to unite members of various medical specialties through physician education, expansion of knowledge in breastfeeding science and human lactation, facilitation of optimal breastfeeding practices and encouragement of the exchange of information among organizations.
Fundacja Mleko Mamy (The Mother's Milk Foundation) is a Polish non-governmental organisation established to promote breastfeeding as the most natural way of feeding babies; support mothers and deliver them useful information;improve awareness of the health benefits of breastfeeding and its role in reducing health inequalities;educate all who are not aware of medical and social benefits of breastfeeding;create the national health policy favorable for breastfeeding.
In addition to the International Meetings in the USA, ABM is cooperating with the Copernicus University of Torun to host a European meeting of physicians on breastfeeding topics. This meeting will include speakers from different European countries and the United States and will concentrate on the discussion of breastfeeding issues of both mother and child. The presentations will discuss the standards as well as the problems in breastfeeding medicine. Simultaneous translation will be offered in Polish, English and German. In the evening we will enjoy a concert and dinner in the historic city of Torun.
The meeting will take place in Hotel Bulwar in Torun, Poland. This city of Copernicus and protected UNESCO heritage site is certainly worth a visit.
