The modernization of the electricity transmission and distribution system known as the Smart Grid is being hailed from the west coast to the Wwhite Hhouse as the panacea to address a host of issues from climate change to an aging electricity infrastructure to giving consumers more control and choice. The electric power industry is poised to undergo a huge transformation in order to be more efficient, reliable, and clean while offering end users more input and options. The objective of this conference is to provide an overview of actual experiences throughout the electric system as industry leaders have begun to move toward implementation of Smart Grid applications through out the power system by way of demonstration projects and full scale of adoption of automation technologies.

Innovative utilities and technology providers will provide lessons learned as they have taken the first steps towards building the Smart Grid. Unlike other industry conferences, this event will provide a ground level view point of the current Smart Grid in practice and look into the future at what the next generation of the intelligent electricity transmission and distribution system will be.

As those within the industry realize, the smart grid issue is complex; its challenges multi-layered. For this reason, EUCI has created a unique two-conference event with focuses on both implementation and gaining customer acceptance.
