Millions of Patients travel around the world each year engaging in medical tourism and global healthcare. Seoul, Korea is one the emerging leading destinations for medical tourism and global healthcare in the world. The 1st Asia Medical Tourism Conference and Global Healthcare Congress will take place April, 13-16th, 2010 in Seoul, Korea as a joint initiative between the Medical Tourism Association (MTA), Korean Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI), and Council for Korea Medicine Overseas Promotion (CKMP).

The 1st Global Healthcare & Medical Tourism Korea Congress will feature up to 800 attendees from over 25 countries and will focus on the high quality of healthcare available in Asia. It will also bring together the stakeholders involved in Asian medical tourism for intense networking event and educational opportunities.

Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) The Korea Health Industry Development Institute(KHIDI) is funded by the government and was established to support the Korean health industry. Council for Korea Medicine Overseas Promotion (CKMP) Council for Korea Medicine Overseas Promotion (CKMP) is the government-private joint initiative to promote Korea Healthcare to international patients. It is the official organization for Korea Medical Tourism supported by Korea Government as well as the “acting body" for a series of national policies in regard to medical travel to Korea. The primary purposes of CKMP include promoting Korea healthcare to the international communities and fostering safe and reliable infrastructure to secure transparency of quality of care and patients’ safety. Currently over 30 hospitals and specialty clinics are actively involved as member providers with a couple of government affiliated organizations, Korea Health Industry Development Institute and Korea Tourism Organization. Korea Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affaires is supporting every activities of CKMP.
