What in the broadest sense do we mean by "the ethics of care?" Ethics of care takes into consideration the goals we pursue for ourselves and the patients, the kind of actions we do (the right thing to do), and about the sort of people we hope to be (our character).
We have ethical concerns in health care today about rising costs, the care of indigent patients, needs of vulnerable persons and the physical and spiritual needs of all patients. Ethical care is possible when there are people to care, able to care and having resources to care. This conference will bring together national and local experts to explore these topics. The intention is to facilitate ethical discourse among participants.
