We are pleased to announce the fourth edition of the Conference Communication and Argumentation in the Public Sphere, organized by the Research Centre of Discourse Theory and Practice, and the Departments of French and of Applied Modern Languages of Dunarea de Jos University, Galati, Romania, from May 13th to 16th, 2010. The main aim of the conference is to provide a framework for fruitful discussion and academic evaluation of research in the field of Humanities and Social Sciences by colleagues willing to present their studies and meet scholars of related scientific areas. We will be honoured to have you as a participant in the conference and in the workshops we are organizing on this occasion.

Conference Organization:

1. Presentations in successive and parallel sections – 20 minutes for presentation, 10 minutes for comments, questions, answers. Conference languages: French, English, Romanian. Languages for publication in the conference proceedings: French, English.

2. Two workshops (one in English, the other in French) conducted by guest speakers. Participants in the workshops will be delivered a certificate to be used, if needed, for credits acknowledgement.

3. Poster sessions may take place during the conference.

The next circulars and announcements on the conference Website will include further details on fee payment, the conference program and accommodation arrangements. Registered participants whose papers have been accepted for presentation will be informed by mail of any posting on CAPS4 Website.

The conference fee covers the conference documents, the coffee breaks and the published volumes.

Travel and Accommodation (20 - 100 Euros/night/person) Costs – in charge of participants.

Organizers can provide details on accommodation in the university hostel (double or triple rooms for 20 Euros/room/night). Organizers cannot guarantee accommodation at the hostel for participants who have not registered before April 9th, 2010.
